Why is my login coming back as invalid?

Due to several recent server upgrades and resets, some users may have to log back into XMRadio.com and make sure that they have a radio ID associated with the online side of their account.

Also double check that the online side of your account is activated. You can do this by simply going to XM's online player, logging in, and see if it will let you listen to the online stream.

The login button isn't working?

In some cases, the gadget can lock up on the sidebar, we're looking into the issue for the next release, but in the meantime, try restarting the sidebar application and that should take care of it most of the time.

If that doesn't work, try disabling Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, and User Account Control to see if those are affecting traffic in and out of the sidebar.

My channel list is gone.

If your channel list is missing, double check your connection and try opening the channel flyout again. If that isn't working, re-add the gadget to the sidebar. If neither of those has worked either restart the sidebar or your machine.

I have no sound.

This problem can be caused by a few different things.

First, make sure you get sound from other gadgets on the sidebar.

Second, make sure you can play XM radio from their Streaming Player.

If both of those work out, then try a persistent settings fix (Back up your favorites first) on the gadget and re-add it to the sidebar. Reboot your machine if needed.

My favorites are missing.

Try re-opening the channels flyout or exporting your favorites from the settings panel. Also make sure you have the latest version of the gadget.

If you're running a screen DPI of over 120, you may need to reduce it to 120 or below as that can cause the favorites text to disappear.

I lost my password.

Easiest way to get your password back is to get it from XM. We also have a link in the gadget login flyout.

Why do I have to pay for XM?

The gadget is free, but because we are not XM, the decision to charge for the XM Online service is not up to us. XM currently charges, regardless if you use our gadget or their player. They do provide a free trial, so if you are interesting in trying before subscribing, we suggest you give it a try, risk free.

Where is the save option for my login?

It was removed in version 1.7 because it wasn't working properly. If you need to log-out, you can do that by clicking the XM logo on top of the gadget and selecting the "Log Out Of Gadget" link.

Where are the station logos?

This was a design decision to help make the display clearer for the users of the gadget. The logos take longer to load and aren't as clear as text, so we didn't include them. They might make a return someday, though perhaps on a different platform.

Persistent settings fix.

There are additional resources in the gadget to handle this now. Go to Settings -> Reset -> Delete for complete instructions and an easy link to the directory.

To do it manually, go to:

Computer -> OS (C:) -> Users -> [Your User Name] -> AppData -> Local -> Microsoft -> Windows Sidebar -> Gadgets.

Delete the following file: XMRadioData.xml

Re-add the XM Online Radio gadget to the sidebar and it should be good as new.

Sound clicks or cuts in and out.

The clicking noise is on XM's end of the streaming. We're not sending you subliminal messages, honest!

As for sound cutting in and out, thats usually something to do with the amount of available bandwidth at your current connection. Try setting the stream quality lower if this really becomes an issue.
